Light the City – Washington, DC

Light The City, a one-night evening of prayer and personal invitation, took place on Saturday, February 28th, from 8pm to midnight at St. Matthew’s Cathedral. Following Mass with Cardinal Wuerl, teams of volunteers went out into the streets of DC’s Dupont Circle neighborhood and invited passers-by to come into the Cathedral to light a candle and pause peacefully in prayer. The Cathedral was filled with candles and music. Those who made a visit to the Cathedral sat in quiet prayer with the Blessed Sacrament, went to confession, or talked with a priest.
